Barnes: "We said that we were a ten-year game, and both Activision and Bungie have committed to being wholly behind the large effort"We've covered this in the past, but I've been thinking about the idea of the Marathon versus sprint in the context of launch.
There will be considerable pressure on the interwebs for people to see content first. I think there could be such a thing at a smaller scale amongst our group. I typically consume things at ridiculous speeds. This includes books, games, heck even food. But the long term mantra Bunkie keeps relaying has me wondering if I can change things up this go-around?
Bungie developers have told us they created this world to be enjoyed at a slow place, in addition to FPS monster-slaying speeds. The beta was undoubtedly the nicest looking game I can recall playing. So I'm really tempted to stop and smell the roses; to look through the nooks and crannies; to find hidden spots; and take the time to let it all sink in.
I'd really like to enjoy the aesthetics. I think this game will reward players for trying to appreciate the details the developers haveve put into the game. This is going to be my goal when the game launches: "It's a marathon, not a sprint".
What will be yours?

ReplyDeleteMy goal is to crush my MP enemies, to see them driven before me, to hear the lamentations of their women, to make Acre so mad he turns off his PS4 mid-game...
